- All orders must be submitted through Morihata.com. We do not accept orders by phone, fax, or email.
- All orders must be written in full case pack quantities and must include the SKUs as they are noted on the pricelist.
- If case pack quantities are not met, Morihata International reserves the right to increase quantities to meet our case pack requirements.
- Backorders will be shipped without notice if within 60 days of the original order date.
- All changes to open orders must be submitted in writing.
All prices are listed in US dollars. Prices are subject to change without notice.
E-Commerce Pricing
Morihata's intention is to support full-priced business models. Customers may not use the Morihata name or products we sell to advertise or otherwise promote Morihata products on the Internet at a net price that is lower than our set minimum advertised price (MAP). Please refer to our line sheet for the MAP of each product.
All sales and promotional events that involve lowering the net price described above should be short-term and limited in frequency. If a customer operates outside this e-commerce pricing policy, Morihata will request that the customer cease advertising or promoting products on the Internet in violation of the policy. In addition, Morihata will cease to accept and/or ship orders from said customer.
E-Commerce Listings
Morihata is interested in establishing business relationships with retailers who stock products. Therefore, we require that customers only feature products on their websites that they have in stock, ready to ship to their customers. Once the product is out of stock, it should be marked as sold out and/or removed from the site.
Online retail stores may use product descriptions or copy that can be found in our wholesale catalog or on Morihata.com. The supplier name must be listed as Morihata for all Binchotan or Tea products. All other products must be listed under the appropriate manufacturer name. (i.e. Kontex, Yoshii, Gato, Kizara, etc.).
Use of Images
All Morihata and Rikumo images, logos, and photography are the exclusive property of Morihata International Ltd. Co. Image use or reproduction requires written permission and is conditional upon the approval of the medium and specific use.
Images of Morihata products are available upon request by contacting info@morihata.com and completing an image request form.
Third-Party Marketplaces
All online sales must come through your independent e-commerce site. Morihata does not partner with companies who sell on any third-party websites or social media platforms, including Amazon, Overstock, eBay, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Any existing or prospective customer must have express approval from Morihata International to sell our products on any third-party marketplace. If a customer does so without prior approval to sell on third-party sites or social media platforms, Morihata has the right to no longer accept orders from said customer.
Pre-Launch Brands
If your business has not yet started regular operations, we ask that you submit a vision document with your Account Request Form that details your brand and lists a few additional labels that you plan to stock. This will allow us to ensure a good fit between our two companies.
Shipping
By default, we ship by all domestic orders via UPS and all international orders via DHL. However, we are happy to work with you if there is another shipping method (Freight, FedEx, etc.) that you would prefer to use. We will not ship via any method that does not provide detailed tracking.
For all international orders, the receiver is responsible for paying any additional taxes, customs fees, duties, tariffs, and/or brokerage fees levied on the goods being imported.
Special handling, labeling, or packaging requests are subject to an extra charge.

Product Customization
Products purchased from Morihata may not be branded, customized, or otherwise altered without prior authorization. Note that minimums may be significantly higher for custom orders.
Samples
Samples may be purchased at wholesale prices with a maximum of one sample per SKU; minimum case pack quantities do not apply, and samples are not for resale. Note that samples can be included in an existing order or mailed separately. The customer is responsible for all shipping charges.
Lead Times
While we are happy to work with you to get your shipment out by a certain date, our lead times are not guaranteed. Once an order is confirmed, in-stock items usually ship in 2-3 weeks, and out-of-stock or backordered items usually ship in about 6-8 weeks. Lead times after trade shows are 4-8 weeks.
If timing is critical, please submit your order at least two months before your need-by date. Holiday orders may see unusual lead times; learn more about holiday ordering here.
Cancellations
We reserve the right to cancel an order for any reason, including but not limited to a poor fit with Morihata’s brand image, failure to pay after repeated attempts to contact the buyer, and/or proximity to another wholesale account.
Payment Methods
We accept payment by company check, wire transfer, and the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We also accept ACH payments for balances of $750 or more.
Please note that wire transfers come with a $25 surcharge. Returned checks are also subject to a $25 processing fee, and there will be a 3% surcharge for requesting to change a payment method after your initial payment has been made and processed.
Net Payment Terms
Net 30 terms will only be offered upon approval to customers who have submitted satisfactory credit references and who have placed a minimum of 6 orders. Net 30 terms may be revoked after multiple late payments.
Late Payments
Payments must be made on or before the due date. Late payments are subject to a 2% monthly finance charge. Morihata reserves the right to submit all unpaid invoices to a collection agency. The buyer is responsible for any collection costs or legal fees.
Shipping Delays or Damages
All shipments must be inspected at the time of delivery for any shortages and/or damage. Any claims for damage to or shortage/loss of cartons must be made directly with the carrier. We are not responsible for any delays or damage caused by the carrier.
General Return Policy
Merchandise cannot be returned without prior authorization, and requests for returns must be made within 30 days from the date of invoice. No returns or refunds will be given if a return is requested more than 30 days after the invoice date.
There will be a 20% restocking fee assessed for any items returned, and the customer is responsible for return shipping charges. All merchandise must be returned in new condition and in original packaging. If returning merchandise due to manufacturing defects or damage not attributable to the shipping carrier, please see below.
At this time, we are unable to accept returns for orders shipped internationally.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Products
Any orders containing damaged, defective, missing, or incorrect products must be reported to us within 14 days of receipt, along with a photograph of said products illustrating the issue. Our team will then send you a prepaid label with which to return the items. Once they are received at our warehouse, a refund will be issued.
Please note that we do not accept any returns, nor issue any refunds or credits, if the problem is reported to us more than 14 days after the receipt of goods. Please also note that we do not offer returns or refunds for goods that have been sold to, used by, and/or washed by customers.
